Terms of service

SafeTV is a parental control application for Android that helps parents manage YouTube usage on a child's device. These terms govern your use of SafeTV, the associated web application, and SafeTV Premium.

SafeTV grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use SafeTV for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not:

• Copy, modify, distribute or sell SafeTV or its contents.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile or attempt to discover the source code or algorithms.
• Use SafeTV to provide a competing service or harm its functionality.
• Remove or alter any copyright notices, trademarks or proprietary labels.

SafeTV is designed for parents (age 16 and over) to manage YouTube on a child's Android device. The parent is responsible for:

• Installing and configuring SafeTV on the child's device.
• Setting and maintaining the parent account password.
• Monitoring and adjusting the rules and blocked channels.
• Deciding what is appropriate for the child.

SafeTV uses Android's Accessibility service (or Notification access on TV) to monitor and control YouTube on the child's device. The app applies the rules you set: blocking channels, blocking Shorts, or blocking YouTube entirely. For more information on what data is collected and how, see the privacy policy.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account password. You are liable for all activity under your account. Do not share your password with anyone. If you suspect unauthorized access, change your password immediately.

SafeTV Premium is planned as an optional monthly subscription through Google Play. When available, it will include a free trial of 3 days and will be subject to the following terms:

• Payment: Payment will be processed by Google Play under its terms. SafeTV does not collect or store your payment details.
• Trial: One free trial of 3 days per account. The trial renews to a paid subscription unless cancelled before it ends.
• Cancellation: You may cancel any time in Google Play. Your subscription continues until the end of the billing period.
• Price changes: SafeTV may change the price of SafeTV Premium. Price increases take effect at the next renewal unless you cancel.
• Refunds: Refunds are handled by Google Play, not SafeTV. Contact Google Play for refund requests.

You can connect up to the number of devices allowed by your SafeTV plan. SafeTV may revoke access or remove devices that:

• Are inactive for more than 90 days.
• Attempt to circumvent SafeTV's protections.
• Are associated with abuse or violation of these terms.

SafeTV is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. SafeTV does not guarantee that it will:

• Block all content you intend to block.
• Prevent a determined child from circumventing the controls.
• Be free of errors, bugs, or interruptions.
• Be compatible with all devices, Android versions, or YouTube updates.

YouTube updates, changes to Android, or modifications to the YouTube app may affect SafeTV's ability to block content. SafeTV is not responsible for such third-party changes.

The parent is solely responsible for deciding what is appropriate for the child and for supervising the child's device usage.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SafeTV is not liable for:

• Indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages.
• Loss of data, profits, revenue, business opportunities or goodwill.
• Content the child accesses despite SafeTV's controls.
• Device damage, data loss or malfunction.
• Any other loss or harm arising from your use of SafeTV.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SafeTV and its operators from any claim, damage, loss or cost arising from:

• Your use or misuse of SafeTV.
• Your breach of these terms.
• Your violation of applicable laws.
• A third party's claim related to your use of SafeTV.

SafeTV may update, modify or discontinue the service at any time. Updates may include changes to features, blocking behavior, compatibility or pricing. We will notify you of material changes. Continued use after a change constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.

We may terminate your account and access to SafeTV if:

• You breach these terms.
• You abuse SafeTV or harm its functionality.
• You violate applicable laws.
• We discontinue SafeTV (with notice).

You may delete your account at any time. Termination does not affect your responsibility for past charges or breaches.

These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Any dispute shall be resolved in the courts of Norway.

These terms, together with the privacy policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and SafeTV. If any provision is invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
